Forenames are spelt as shown in the Index; the spelling of the registration districts has been amended, where necessary, to follow that on the maps issued by the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies 1837-1851 (1990) and 1852-1946 (1984).  Question marks indicate that the Index was not legible for one reason or another and that even more caution than usual should be exercised.

Apparent duplication of entries in the Index has been retained in the attached extract.
