Major Addington is the 2nd son of Gerald, 4th Viscount Sidmouth, and brother of the present Viscount. He s. his uncle, Mr. Francis Henry Tonge, of Highway, Wilts, in 1936.

Winchester; m. 12 June, 1889, Lady Madeleine Dora (d. 11 Dec. 1925) eldest dau. of Francis Alexander, 8th Earl of Kintore (see Burke's Peerage) He d.s.p. 6 March, 1936 and was s. in the Highway estate by his nephew.
