Summary
Document for the demolition of the first known chapel at Horwich and the construction of the second.

On 18th June 1789 the following people were appointed as commissioners to take down the old Chapel of Horwich to build a new one:-

Reverend Robert Latham, clerk, Vicar of Deane
Reverend John Norcross, clerk, Curate of Horwich
Richard Pilkington the elder, gentleman
Thomas Greenhalgh (since deceased)
Robert Etough
William Longworth
Robert Greenhalgh, yeoman
Hugh Whittle

They were described as "owners of the estates within the chapelry of Horwich"

As set forth in text above there is annexed to the faculty the subjoined "account of the seats in Horwich Chapel, to what lands they belong, who the owners of the lands are, and the names of the tenants or occupiers with the number of seats belonging to each as allotted and appointed by the Commissioners under a faculty, 1782":-
